What is 40 under 40?
40 under 40: The Stories of 40 Inspirational Muslims is an exclusive feature edition of MBMuslima that will be published in February of 2012, inshaAllah. The purpose of this feature is to recognize the work of 20 sisters & 20 brothers who have been recognized as doing extra in their community.
What about sincerity?
As Muslims, we strive to do everything solely for the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth. At the same time, the beautiful religion of Islam is all about following good examples. We feel that featuring 40 inspirational Muslims will help open the world’s eyes to the beautiful work that is being done in the name of Islam. We inshaAllah hope that both Muslims & non-Muslims will be inspired by the work of these amazing nominees. We also ask that you make duaa (supplication), asking Allah ta3la to keep our brothers and sisters both sincere & steadfast in their work.
How exactly will individuals be featured?
All nominees have had a page created about them, allowing voters to learn more about them. The top 20 sisters & top 20 brothers will be featured in the February 2012 issue of MBMuslima. The top 5 sisters & top 5 brothers will also be video interviewed and featured on the MBMuslima website.
Why are both genders being featured if this is a magazine for Muslim women?
Regardless of who is reading MBMuslima, we feel that both genders have the ability to inspire one another. By featuring both women & men, we hope to create a congruent representation of all those who are doing great things. The key thing is congruency. As you will see, many different individuals have been nominated: those working in Islam, those working in their communities, in the arts, in politics, in entertainment, etc. Oh, and by the way, 14% of our readers are men. =)

When does voting end?
Voting will automatically close on December 31, 11:59PM. Learn about the nominees here.
How many times can I vote?
You can only vote once, for 1 sister and for 1 brother. You must use a valid e-mail address to do so. You are allowed to nominate as many individuals as you’d like. Just because you’ve already voted doesn’t mean you can’t nominate someone else.
What if I want my nomination removed?
No problem. e-mail us via our contact form, and your nomination will be removed within 24 hours inshaAllah.
Can I suggest an addition/correction to a nominee’s page?
Yes, please e-mail us via our contact form to do so. Changes will be made within 24 hours, as long as they are deemed appropriate.
When I vote, what will my e-mail address be used for?
Your e-mail address is what validates you as a unique voter. Of course we realize that some individuals may use multiple e-mail address to vote multiple times. We ask that you do not do this. If you do, that is between you & God. =)
